Polderland Garden of
Love and Fire by Daniel Libeskind
Polderland
Garden of Love and Fire (1997) consists of five lines: three
canals that are five metres wide and that each connect two points
in Europe: Almere (the work of art's location), Salamanca (the domicile
of Juan de la Cruz) and Berlin (Libeskind's current residence).
Cutting through this canal network is the forth concrete strip,
on which a sculpture stands. The fifth line is a pedestrian's path
with bridges across the canals (text: E. Agricola).
