 Salsa (Mexico)

Ingredients
  • 1 can Stewed Tomatoes
  • 3-4 Fresh Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 large Onion (chopped)
  • 1-2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Cucumber chopped (optional)
  • Lemon juice
  • 2-3 chili peppers chopped
  • Dash Tabasco
  • Salt &Pepper
  • Cilantro (or coriander leaves) chopped

Having moved to Germany, I find it difficult to find really good Mexican food, so I must make it myself. I have been surprised how easy it is to make my own salsa and a fraction of the European price. This is the quick and easy way.

Description

To the can of stewed tomatoes I add freshly chopped tomatoes, the chopped onion and garlic. If you like cucumber you can chop it and add also. Then begin adding the chopped chili peppers to taste-as many, as you like. Season with salt, pepper lemon juice. To be really authentic you should add chopped cilantro or culantro of if you can’t find them you can use coriander leaves.
