 Celery Slices (Germany)


Ingredients

  • 1 lg. Celery knoll
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 cups fine Bread crumbs
  • Flour
  • Oil
  • Salt & Pepper


These are absolutely delicious...
I never knew what people did with those big celery knolls... man is this good! Now I even grow them in the garden.

Description

Peal and slice the celery into large slices about 1/4 inch thick. Lay them first in flour then in the eggs, which have been beaten and then in the breadcrumbs. Fry in very hot oil until crispy and golden on both sides. Serve with baked potato or our favorite is cheesy rice. I squeeze lemon juice on mine, my husband prefers sembal olek or Tabasco.
