Green Bean Casserole
   

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Lb. Fresh Green beans- sliced or
  • 1 pkg. frozen Green beans (French cut is nicer)
  • 250 gram Pasta
  • 1 Vegi. bullion cube
  • Herbal Seasoning-Italian
  • Eggs
  • 150 grams grated cheese (Swiss)
  • 1/2 c Milk
  • Tbs. Lemon juice
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Preheat the oven to 375(F).

This is similar to the Broccoli casserole. There are 2 main ingredients. Green beans (preferably fresh, or frozen when out of season), and pasta- either spirals, shells macaroni or any favorite of choice.


Description

Prepare the pasta as directed. Thaw the frozen green beans or cook the fresh green beans. Drain the pasta and place in a buttered casserole dish with the green beans.

Prepare a sauce with the milk, vegetable bullion cube, seasonings and add the cheese. I usually add some garlic salt also. At the last moment I add the lemon juice and mix well. Pour over the beans and pasta and mix the entire casserole well. Place in the oven covered for about 45 minutes. The meal is usually complimented with a fresh salad and whole grain bread.
